New Children at the Centre

Samkelisiwe
Samkelisiwe (12 yrs) and Siyamthanda (3 yrs) GAGA

The 2 girls came to the Centre in August. Their mother is ill and on treatment and their father died 2 years ago. Samkelisiwe wasn't attended school regularly because she was looking after her little sister when her mother was sick and admitted to hospital.


Amandae
Amanda (5 yrs) MBASHE

Amanda is from Freedom Park and came to the Centre in June. She is on ARV's and her mother is very ill and unable to look after her


Nkosinothando and Sibongile
Nkosinothando (2 yrs) and Sibongile (3 yrs) MHLANGA

They also have a brother Lindokuhle who is 10 yrs, who will join them at the Centre when he has finished his end of year exams. Their mother is on ARV's and unemployed. Their father died


Nqobile and Zesuliwe
Nqobile (4 yrs) and Zesuliwe (14 months) DUBAZANE

The 2 girls come from Magologolo Squatter Camp in Germiston, where they lived in a shack with their mother. Their shack was burnt down in September and their unemployed mother is attempting to re-build her shack. Both girls are on medication and they were referred to the centre by social workers from Johannesburg Hospital, because they need to be in a stable environment and receive proper medication, which their mother was unable to do.


Bonolo (3 yrs), Mamoya (6 yrs) and Tshepang (7 yrs) MADUNA

Tshepang and his 2 sisters came to the Centre from Freedom Park in October, They have an 7 year old brother (Lebohang)who will join them after his end of year exams. Their mother is unemployed, sick and or ARVs and now homeless after being chased out of her home by her mother in law who accuses her of killing her son.


Nomsembuluko (6 yrs) Ntombizodwa (3 yrs) and Nkosani (13 months) LETTA

The children are from Heidelberg and came to the Centre in October. Both parents are unemployed and abuse alcohol and smoke dagga. The father collects cans & plastic to sell but uses the money earned to buy beer. Both inside and outside their house looked like a dumping ground, not conducive to raising children. The older girl didn't attend school and Ntombizodwa cannot talk; she might be disturbed by the situation at home. The little boy hasn't started walking


Amahle
Amahle (5 yrs), Mpumelelo (8 yrs) and Nkululeko (2 yrs) DANGAZELE

The 3 children came to the Centre from Freedom Park in June. Their mother is ill and unemployed and the whereabouts of the father is unknown. They were neglected and undernourished - when they arrived at the Centre, the little boy who was 18 months at the time could not even walk, as a result of malnutrition
